Full-Spectrum Touch sessions integrate Western deep-tissue massage and related systems with energy work, supportive dialogue and mind-body practices in a varying blend that honors each client's changing needs.
Sessions are done either clothed or unclothed (with towels for draping and with oil), using the therapeutic bodyCushion shown in the pictures here, which substantially enhances your comfort and relaxation during the session, as well as the effectiveness of the work.
This image shows off the luxurious support of the therapeutic body cushion, used in every session. Notice the leg and arm supports.
All sessions begin with a hands-on assessment to help focus the work.
Your session will include:
A Comprehensive Assessment
Lasting results begin by getting to the root of the problem. After hearing about where you hurt, I’ll look at you walking, standing and sitting to get a thorough sense of your body’s tension patterns, and consider the impact of: - Past injuries and health challenges - Recent demands on the body, including exercise practices, work-station issues, the physical demands of parenting, recent “overuse“ stresses, etc.; and -Recent + ongoing life-stress factors that may be contributing to your physical challenges.
Expert Bodywork Care
More than just a set of techniques, a Full-Spectrum Touch session is a kind of improvisational dialogue as I work with you to bring openness and relief to areas of restriction and discomfort, using a synergistic blend of the following elements:
-A Hands-on Fusion of:
- Deep-Tissue Massage
- Craniosacral Therapy -Active and passive stretching andother muscle energy and positional release techniques - Energy work from Chinese acupressure, Reiki and more
-Bodymind Techniques: -Imagery -Yogic Breath Work -Mindfulness-based body awareness andinquiry and, where appropriate, -Body-centered Trauma Healing
-State-of-the-art Professional Tools: -Electric lift table and bodyCushion for maximum comfort and supportfor more effective treatment. -Moist heat & cold treatment (seasonal)
Support and Counselling
The most important ingredient in your healing formula is YOU and the choices you make for your own self-care.I’ll help you expand your sense of those choices through:
- Supportive dialogue -Clear explanations of the anatomical basis of your pain and tension patterns -Recommendations of stretches, strengthening exercises and self-care practices and -Referrals, when appropriate, to a vast network of healing arts practitioners.
